How we show up

We feel it’s important to let you know how we step into our roles and what our non-negotiables are; just so you’re aware. 

 

This also ensures that we are keeping ourselves accountable. 

 

These are our guiding principles…

 

Step 1: We make it a priority to lead with curiosity; to understand the context of the environment, the complexity of the problem space and the cognitive diversity of your people. 

 

Step 2: With trust and vulnerability, we set clear intentions and boundaries with our community, and do the hard work of articulating values, purpose and success metrics. These foundations are our north star; we know that in times of chaos and uncertainty, they will serve to guide us. 

 

Step 3: We acknowledge the vital importance of working in concert with technology, not in service to it or in fear of it. We embrace the exponential amplification of our impact and we accept the responsibility of governance. 

 

Step 4: We understand that proactive thinking and transformative insights become meaningful when translated into action. 

 

Once we do the steps, we put our best foot forward and enter the arena.

I'm Kate,

As a Creative Architect, what drives me is making things matter: messaging, life, art, a product, a platform or a service. Everything is about connection, everything is about being a part of something. 

TouchPoint is about allowing work to matter. To really matter. 

I love work. And I am committed to helping everyone feel the same; it is such a huge part of our lives, it should greatly contribute to our joy. But we need to be intentional. We need to understand how we show up, where we thrive and where we are challenged. We need to do the work. Because when we do, we start working intentionally, authentically, and productively. 

When we trust ourselves at work, we can trust others…..It is that simple; and that complex. 

Trust is a leadership exercise. Leadership of self and others. 

Trust is everything. It exists in abundance in theatre and television (the original place of performance) and it is almost non-existant in organisations (the places where performance is the desired outcome).

I'm Áine,

I've lead large operational teams for many years, but I've never read something so boring, so let me fix that. I've lead vibrant, passionate, collaborative, effective, customer focused, high performing, fun teams for many years. That's better. 

I've been confused for most of this time by how we have shaped our organisations to take decision making power away from the people who need it most. I've been frustrated by how we make processes that disempower teams from creating their own wonderful ways of working. Most of all I've been dismayed by the lack of support and training for our incredible leaders. 

I was promoted from within my team into my first leadership role. The classic story, right? I was expected to take my shiny new title and a team of 12 people and "know what to do". But, what we all know is that isn't how it works. 

So I started testing solutions, ways of working and support systems for the new leaders that I promoted from within my teams. I did this for years and eventually created something I was really proud of. Alongside Kate, this became TouchPoint. I've always loved what I do and TouchPoint has created a world where I can share the best parts with senior managers that struggled with the same issues that I did for so long.
